AFE 2022: Paralytic Shellfish Toxins in Fish and Invertebrates in Gulf of Alaska Sites

PSP toxins in marine fish and invertebrates collected at Gulf of Alaska sites were analyzed for PSP toxin concentrations. Toxin concentrations in forage fishes reached the highest levels in Dolly Varden, Pacific herring, and Pacific sand lance, with concentrations several times the U.S. regulatory limit. Toxins were also present in tissues of all five Alaska salmon species and other predatory fishes.
