AFE 2021: PFAS – Tools and Techniques for Investigation and Analysis
February 10 @ 11:15 am - 12:15 pm
Perflouralkyl Substances (PFAS) are now a well-documented class of emerging contaminants receiving attention worldwide as a pervasive and persistent environmental threat. Numerous previous presentations at AFE have discussed common topics for PFAS: sources, exposure pathways, options for treatment, and regulatory oversight and actions. This talk will focus on technical aspects for investigating the complex suite of PFAS compounds based on experiences from multiple case studies in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest. Tools and analyses will be discussed to discern fate and transport of different PFAS compounds, and how evolving regulatory requirements influence investigation.
