AFE 2021: Getting Started with Gardening and Agriculture in Alaska

If you’re looking to start or improve gardening or agriculture projects or build local food security in your community, then this session is for you! The University of Alaska Fairbanks, Cooperative Extension Service offers a variety of programs to help gardeners and agricultural projects succeed in Alaska. This session will introduce participants to the steps involved in successful gardening and what the Master Gardener program offers. Speakers will also present on common weed and pest control strategies and how to query Extension experts for help with identifying and developing pest management strategies. A representative from the AKAgrAbility program will also share information about the program and some resources to assist with accessible gardening.
